46 Arrested in Connection with Kiradpura Incident



In a major development, 46 people have been arrested in connection with the stone pelting and arson incident that took place in the Ram Mandir area of Kiradpura. The Commissioner of Police (CP) Dr Nikhil Gupta confirmed that as many as 22 teams have been appointed to track down the suspects, with more than one team from each police station involved in the search.

According to the CP, out of the 46 arrested, three are minors. The police have also identified 38 persons who are absconding and have urged citizens to share any videos or CCTV footage they may have of the incident to aid in the investigation.

Gupta reviewed the progress of the teams at Jinsi police station on Tuesday and emphasized that the police would not arrest anyone without evidence. He further added that the case diaries and evidence against the relevant parties were being collected.

The police have been actively trying to locate the absconding suspects and have been working tirelessly to ensure that they are brought to justice. As part of their efforts, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shilwant Nandedkar, Crime branch inspector Avinash Aghav, SIT chief inspector Sambhaji Pawar, Cyber inspector Praveena Yadav, Jinsi station PI Ashok Bhandare and more than 100 officials and employees have been involved in the search.

DCP Nandedkar has given instructions to the police officers of 22 squads, employees and officers of the cyber station to arrest the accused. The officers and employees have been informed about the manner in which action should be taken while going to arrest the accused.

The CP has also assured citizens that those who provide the video footage will not face any problem and their names will be kept confidential. The police are determined to bring all those involved in the arson case to justice and will continue their efforts to locate the absconding suspects.
